here are some information about some words you may or may not be familiar with
Coercive control and behaviour
Emotionally or physically threatening or intimidating you, threatening to disclose information about you publicly. Humiliating and degrading you, repeatedly putting you down in the attempt to control you into doing something.
Gangs
A group of persons, usually youths who share a common identity who generally engage in criminal activity.
Carrying for others
This is where someone else is used to carry an offensive weapon such as a knife, or other items such as drugs.
Exploitation
Exploitation is when someone takes advantage of someone else or a group of others in the attempt to gain something.
Knife Crime
Knife crime is any crime involving a knife or sharp object. This includes: carrying a knife, owning a banned knife, trying to buy a knife if you are under 18, and/or threatening, injuring or fatally wounding someone with a knife.
Perpetrator
A person who carries out a harmful, illegal, or immoral act.
Victim
A person harmed, injured or killed as a result of a crime, accident or other event or action.
Violence
Behaviour involving physical force intended to hurt, damage or kill someone or something.
Abuse
When someone causes us harm or distress. It can take many forms ranging from disrespecting to causing someone physical or mental pain. It can occur in someones home, care home, hosptial, foster home, school or even in a public place.
Grooming
Is when a person builds a relationship with a young person or vulnerable adult so they can take advantage and manipulate them into doing something.
Discrimination
Is unfiar or prejudice treatment of people and groups based on characteristics such as race, gender, age or sexual orientation.
Hate crime
Typically involving violence that is motivated by prejudice on the basis of ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or similiar grounds.
